Mike and Jude Kelly- Philippines

Sent out by GTCOTR and working with the GOTONATIONS missions agency, the Kellys conduct medical outreaches, work in community health and development, teach leaders and missionaries in training, and help street children through the Sonshine Center. These children live in what are called "squatter" villages, and many must sort through the city dump to find food to survive. The Kellys are also working with more than 500 families living in a developing village area. The Kellys recently played a major role in seeing a new medical clinic open up in their city this summer.

Christmas Gift Bags

These Christmas Gift Bags contain basic food and personal items. They are given each year to the participants of the Mom's Club, the Youth Program, and the Saturday Kidz Club in the recognition of their faithful attendance to the basic living and spiritual lessons that are taught weekly by the staff of the Sonshine Center throughout the year.

Flip Flops

The families we minister to live in and around the local garbage dump where they often scavenge for their food and other necessities. Having adequate footwear is an important tool in helping the children maintain good health, as many parasites that cause worms enter through the feet of the children resulting in sickness and disease.

Window Screen for Homes

Two of the most dangerous illnesses on the island of Panay are dengue fever and malaria. Both are mosquito born viruses that have affected more than 5000 people in our province alone, and many children have died from them. These families need screens on their homes to protect them from this threat. Each $20 gift will provide up to 5 screens and installation for 1 family dwelling.

Install a Kitchen

Two families we are helping are in desperate need of a covered kitchen area. One of these women is a widow, and the other is caring for her husband who has a debilitating disease.  This simple gift would make their lives so much easier, and healthier, as they could cook food for their families in a much cleaner, more germ and vermin free environment.

Medical Checkups

We are preparing to set up medical missions stations at two different sites. Approximately 500 children will be evaluated and treated at those sites, and their parents will receive vital and understandable medical information to help them care for their children and improve their living conditions. For just $4 you can give a child the medicines and education they need to live a healthier life.
